Netcare Education (Pty) Ltd, Faculty of Nursing and Ancillary Healthcare (FNAH), a division of Netcare Limited, is dedicated to developing the clinical knowledge and skills of nursing and health care-related professionals.

 

Netcare and Netcare Education embrace the principle of life-long learning. We provide formal and short courses; basic and post-basic education and training for enrolled nurses (EN) and registered nurses (RN), as well as informal programmes for ancillary health care practitioners. This ensures that nursing and ancillary health care practitioners can be developed in their areas of practice. We endeavour to grow our people personally and professionally as a critical factor to improve the South African economy.

 

A holistic approach is taken, combining theory with Work Integrated Learning (WIL) in hospitals, so as to provide the best learning opportunities for developing knowledge, skills, attitudes and values, as well as enabling qualified health care professionals to remain up to date with the current practice.

Accreditation and registration credentials

Students are subject to the Nursing Act (Act 33 of 2005), their registration in terms of this Act being mandatory for their studies at Netcare Education, and any rights or recourse contained therein are available to them.

 

National Qualifications Framework alignmentFormal nursing programmes are aligned to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). As such, they reflect the respective NQF level, number of credits, outcomes and assessment criteria. This ensures that the credits earned by successful candidates could count towards national South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) registered qualifications, and might be considered for recognition of prior learning (RPL), thereby opening opportunities for further learning.

 

Language of instruction

All education and training programmes offered are presented in English, and students are required to have English language competence at NQF level 4 (four).
