ABOUT THE POSITION

 

 

 

 

The suitably qualified Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for the relationship building and retention of the Occupational Health clients of Universal Corporate Wellness (UCW). This position is aimed at a dynamic, performance-orientated and client focused individual who is able to deliver quality outputs whilst at the same time working effectively with people both internally and externally.

 

 

 

 

The position will be responsible for client’s work-related Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) incidents, coordination of occupational health medicals and incapacity and disability management. This position will also focus on the growth of the occupational health services offered by UCW. The position engages in a variety of tasks including project management, strategic planning, relationship management, negotiation and innovative development of opportunities.

The position will report to the Wellness Manager.

 

 

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

 

 

 

Managing the PEP Support Services: Recording, Counselling and Case Management

 

Counselling conducted in a professional and non-judgemental manner daily.

 

Counselling after hours in cases of emergency.

 

Recording of new PEP cases.

 

Risk assessments of the PEP cases.

 

Case management and follow-up calls to the client employees.

 

Ensure that follow-up pathology results are received and recorded.

 

Liaise with virologists in case of abnormalities and if clinically necessary arrange a HIV clinician consultation.

 

Work closely with the EWP and after-hours counselling teams.

 

Capture medicine authorisations on SOL system.

 

Order PEP treatment packs and arrange for delivery of follow-up regimen to employee through courier pharmacy.

 

Order approved PEP starter packs through courier pharmacy and ensure timeous distribution to the client.

 

Managing the PEP Support Services: Reporting and Financial Management

 

Submit weekly and monthly PEP case reports to the client.

 

Ensure data accuracy and appropriate upload of data into the data warehouse.

 

Compile and finalise PEP monthly reports and present to the client.

 

Draft relevant medication or services quotes for the client and ensure appropriate approval prior to distribution.

 

Complete the medication (starter and treatment pack) invoice requests inclusive of supporting documentation on a monthly basis and provide to the finance department to raise the invoice to the client.

 

Ensure all provider invoices are checked and submitted for payment timeously.

 

Coordination of occupational health medicals

 

Sourcing, negotiating and contracting of occupational health providers on a national basis.

 

Managing of client requests for occupational health medicals.

 

Client quoting and approval.

 

Scheduling and managing of providers.

 

Ensure invoice generation and payment in collaboration with Quote Specialist position.

 

Provision of client feedback, including provision of Certificates of Fitness and consolidated reporting.

 

Incapacity and Disability Management

 

Maintain provider data-base and update monthly

 

Case management of incapacity cases including engagement with employees and scheduling appointments with providers.

 

Check invoices received for accuracy against quotations made for any discrepancies.

 

Submit monthly incapacity invoice requests including health provider invoice amounts to finance

 

Record incapacity referrals within 8 hours of receipt and update accordingly in line with assessments and approvals.

 

Receive provider reports within 5 working days from appointment.

 

Consolidate all individual case information and provider information into the case report within 5 working days of the last assessment and provide to client.

 

Ensure data accuracy and appropriate upload of data into the data warehouse.

 

Compile and finalise Incapacity quarterly reports and present to the client

 

Assist when needed with UCW wellness events

 

Coordinate health and wellness days – focus on quality of service delivery.

 

Attend and manage onsite health and wellness days for existing and prospective clients.

 

Conduct HRA and HCT screening according to prescribed protocols at internal and external wellness days.

 

Assistance with health and wellness challenges events.

 

Responsible for Key Account Management of Corporate Wellness clients.

 

Manage the existing client relationships to optimise business retention.

 

Discuss monthly and quarterly reports and trends with clients.

 

Recommend wellness interventions as needed.

 

Assist with product training and roll-out/orientation training.

 

Deal with client complaints and maintain client satisfaction with the services.

 

Responsible for agendas and minutes during meetings with clients.

 

Marketing and collateral

 

Continuously coming up with awareness plans to market the service to clients.

 

Assist with e-newsletters, flyers and website content.

 

Research and benchmarking.

 

Assist with marketing of service to potential clients.

 

Experience and qualifications required

 

 

 

 

Degree in Nursing Science or diploma in general nursing

 

Qualification as Occupational Health Nurse

 

Certificates, experience or knowledge of management of HIV/AIDS

 

Language requirements

 

 

 

 

Be able to speak, write, read and comprehend fluently in English

 

Other South African languages will be advantageous

 

Computer literacy

 

Proficiency in the following programmes is required:

Work Requirements

 

 

 

 

Should have a valid driver’s license and own transport

 

The candidate should be willing to work after-hours
