ABOUT THE POSITION

 

Shatterprufe® is the leading manufacturer and distributor of OE Auto and aftermarket replacement glass products. The company manufactures genuine Shatterprufe® laminated windscreens and Armourplate® toughened automotive safety glass products. Three automotive glass plants manufacture over 4 million pieces of laminated and toughened glass a year for customers worldwide. Shatterprufe® products are installed by Original Motor manufacturers in Southern Africa.

 

Main job purpose:

To take overall responsibility for the Warehouse Operations and Logistics activities, including strategic procurement, people, resources, systems and efficiencies thereby ensuring excellent service delivery, safety of warehouse staff and business continuity.

 

Main Objective:

 

To optimize working capital for the business by achieving set targets according to budgets and company goals and optimizing stock management by ensuring right product, quantity, quality and location to facilitate sales nationally.

To ensure 100% accurate and timeous delivery of all operations reports and provide accurate information for budget purposes.

To monitor & control expenditure against budget for maintenance, transport costs, overtime efor the operations department to minimise vacancies.

To manage the warehouse systems, have accurate information and take overall responsibility for the data integrity of all systems in the operations department.

To continuously improve inefficiencies in the warehouse by identifying and implementing best practices to drive business results.

To maintain stock accuracy and reducing quality issues by ensuring 99.8% inventory accuracy through overall management of perpetual stock counts with corrective action plans (right stock at the right time in the right location).

To control overall management and leadership of the Operations department, including procurement systems, resources and warehouse to support achievement of required business results.

To ensure accurate purchasing, cost control and risk management to ensure optimal service delivery and customer satisfaction.

To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business.

To oversee all site maintenance, repairs and security through the effective management of relevant service providers to ensure business functionality.

To ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.

To cultivate and in still a culture of commitment through meaningful engagement and building constructive relationships with Shop stewards (and other shop floor employees) in order to achieve and maintain a healthy IR working environment.

To ensure negotiations and to build effective relationships with various vendors in order to source and purchase the best quality products, goods and service at most competitive prices, ensuring that ARG products and pricing are market related in order to achieve ARG sales volumes and profit targets.

Critical job requirements:

Qualification(s):

 

Grade 12.

Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Knowledge:

 

Knowledge of importing and exporting of goods.

Knowledge of the OHSA.

Knowledge of equipment maintenance.

Working knowledge of SAP.

Working knowledge of optimizing warehouse efficiency.

Knowledge of compiling SLA’s for service providers.

Working knowledge of current best practices in operations and warehouse management.
